Our objectives are:

  • To bring the best quality Jazz, of varying styles, including original works to Ilkley
  • To provide a platform for local and more well known artists to perform
  • To give free, educational events for all abilities and ages
  • To benefit local businesses by bringing more people to Ilkley
  • To grow, year on year, bigger and better

In 2014 we were one of four days of music as part of the Ilkley Summer Festival. Last year we had 25 acts and 4 other events for you.

History
As an organization we have changed too, it all started with Beverley Beirne performing in the Summer Festival for Bradford Councilor Anne Hawksworth and the good people of Ilkley requesting more jazz.
The Summer Festival took up this request and asked Beverley to put on a day of jazz selecting some of the top Yorkshire acts to perform alongside her with Mark Beirne-Smith and Paul Kitching - RIP on the door!
In 2015 we still maintained our relationship with the summer festival and held a weekend of jazz! In 2016 we broke free from the summer festival and became independent!
In 2019 we set ourselves up as a club based organisation with a group of volunteers that have been helping us through the years as the members and a constitution:

Sara Andrew – Marketing Lead

Pete Atkinson - Operations

Steph Atkinson – Secretary and Community Acts

Beverley Beirne – Artistic Director

Mark Beirne-Smith - Chair
